CNN will broadcast live the second annual “Juneteenth: A Global Celebration for Freedom” performance from Los Angeles’ famed outdoor Greek Theatre in Griffith Park.

Charlie Wilson, Miguel, Kirk Franklin, Nelly, SWV, Davido, Coi Leray, Jodeci, and Mike Phillips are among the artists that will perform, and Oscar winner Questlove and Adam Blackstone will serve as the musical directors.

Chlöe Bailey, singer and “Grown-ish” star, will pay tribute to the late music queen Tina Turner during the program. During the occasion, Vice President Kamala Harris will make a special speech.

The concert, which will be hosted by Sara Sidner of CNN, will air nationwide at 8 p.m. ET on OWN and globally on all CNN platforms. At 7 p.m. ET, CNN will begin its pre-show coverage with an emphasis on African-American campaigners, pioneers, and creators.

When the event was announced last month, it was produced by LiveNation Urban and Jesse Collins Entertainment. Johnita P. Due, EVP of Integrity and Inclusion for CNN Worldwide, said, “We are thrilled to continue to elevate the importance of the Juneteenth holiday.”

“I’m excited to experience the energy of the 2023 concert. It is expertly made as a representation of the Black community’s excellence, resiliency, and continual pursuit of equality.

Among the performers at the first CNN Juneteenth concert last year were Chaka Khan, Khalid, Ne-Yo, Earth Wind & Fire, and Khalid.
