Former President Donald Trump, who is scheduled to appear at the Manhattan criminal court on Tuesday, has ranted about Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and Judge Juan Merchan, who will be overseeing his hush-money case.
Will Donald Trump receive a gag order?
While the 45th POTUS has called Bragg an “animal,” he has called Mgagerchan “Trump Hating” during the indictment process in his social media posts, which might earn him a gag order from the district attorney’s office.
The possibility of Trump being handed a gag order criticized by Reps. Jim Jordan of Ohio and James Comer of Kentucky. The lawmakers, who are both Trump supporters said that they are deeply concerned” about what they hear could be an “unconstitutional gag order” from the DA.

“To put any restrictions on the ability of President Trump to discuss his mistreatment at the hands of this politically motivated prosecutor would only further demonstrate the weaponization of the New York justice system,” Jordan and Comer said in a statement. “To even contemplate stifling the speech of the former commander in chief and current candidate for President is at odds with everything America stands for.”
Gag orders are not an uncommon thing in criminal cases to ensure that the defendant has a fair trial by making sure that the jury pool is not influenced before a trial.

In this case, if a gag order was to go into effect, Trump, his attorneys, and other individuals related to the case could be prohibited from speaking publicly about the case outside of court documents and proceedings by the judge’s orders.
Trump has railed against the indictment in statements and posts on his Truth Social platform. He has also announced that he plans to address the nation after his court appearance on Tuesday. He will be flying straight back to Mar-a-Lago in Florida from New York and deliver a primetime address at 8.15 p.m. ET.
