Joe Russo, one half of the Russo Brothers, the director duo who made Avengers: Endgame, has shared his comments on reports about the two returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Joe and Anthony Russo were first onboarded as directors for Captain America: The Winter Soldier and since the movie was a big hit, they were tapped for Captain America: Civil War as well.

Delivering success with the Captain America franchise, the two brothers were retained to wrap up the Infinity Saga for Marvel.

Following the success of Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, the two haven’t had any Marvel movies come out. So, when the news broke out that the two parties are in talks, fans had much reason to be excited.

In an interview with Variety, Joe Russo sat down to talk about Scarlett Johansson’s lawsuit against Disney+ and also the brothers’ potential return to MCU.

While not giving much away, Joe Russo exercised caution with his words, saying “it would be inappropriate for us to comment on a deal if we were in the middle of it.”

Marvel Studios would want the duo to return given their tremendous success with them in the 2010s.

Currently, the Russo Brothers have their hands tied in two projects, The Gray Man starring Chris Evans and spy drama Citadel.

With the MCU packed until 2023, there is some time for the director duo to find their next collaboration project.

This year, MCU has been expanding through different TV series on characters like Loki, Vision, Falcon and more.

The MCU also has major movie releases lined up to sign off the year on a high with The Eternals and Spider-Man No Way Home.
