Two officers were injured in a shooting incident in Minnesota’s Winsted on Monday morning, ABC 5 Eyewitness reports. It is an active scene and officers from multiple departments are involved in sorting it out.

The suspect is reportedly inside an address in the 600 block of Pheasant Run, in Winsted. It is located an hour west of the Twin Cities in McLeod County. The officers were at the address to serve a warrant when they were fired at by the suspect.

The officers who were injured had non-life-threatening injuries and are undergoing treatment currently.

The incident comes against the backdrop of the lethal shooting that took place in Monterey in Los Angeles on Saturday by a 72-year-old male Asian suspect named Huu Can Tran. 10 people were injured and ten were killed at two different ballroom studios at West Garvey Avenue in Monterey park, where celebrations for the Chinese Lunar Year were on.

Monterey Police is yet to come up with a motive for the shooting. The suspect, having been stopped from shooting at the second location by the people at the studio, fled the scene in a van and allegedly shot himself to death.

While two of the victims killed in the shooting, Lilan Li and My Nhan, were named and identified while the other eight remains unnamed.

All of the victims are reportedly above the age of 60. One among the injured was the owner of one of the ballrooms.
