A heart-wrenching car crash in Wolcott has left 10 individuals injured, with a 10-year-old child in critical condition. The incident occurred on Friday night and involved a vehicle traveling on Woodtick Road.

According to the Wolcott police department, the car abruptly turned and overcorrected, resulting in it veering off the road and landing on its side.

Tragedy struck as two adults and eight children were squeezed into a Ford Focus, with three kids occupying the car’s hatchback area. Among them, a 10-year-old child was tragically ejected from the vehicle and found underneath it.

Quick-thinking fellow drivers came to the rescue, helping to extricate the child from beneath the car. Authorities report that the child is now in critical condition, having suffered a severe laceration on their back.

The remaining nine passengers, including both adults and children, sustained numerous bumps and bruises in the crash. All individuals involved were swiftly transported to the hospital for necessary medical attention.
