Dre Kirkpatrick Jr., a three-star defensive back, chose the Crimson Tide over Missouri on Friday night, following in his father’s footsteps.

“I have a good chance to leave a lasting impression there”, Kirkpatrick Jr. told.

Kirkpatrick added to the tension by putting on a Missouri headgear and holding up a jersey with a Tiger logo before switching to an Alabama hat for his introduction. Kirkpatrick is the son of Dre Kirkpatrick, a former All-SEC second-teamer and two-time national champion who played at Alabama under Nick Saban from 2009 to 2011. Drafted in the first round by the Cincinnati Bengals, Kirkpatrick Sr. played a total of 10 seasons in the NFL, including one-year stints with the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers at the end of his career.
