Gudi Padwa, which is also known as Samvatsar Padvo is celebrated on the first day of the Chaitra month as per the Hindu calendar. The festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm and is one of the major festivals of the people of Maharashtra and the Konkan region.

Gudi Padwa is named after two words with ‘Gudi’ meaning the emblem or flag of Lord Brahma and ‘Padwa’ that signifies the first day of the moon. On the occasion of Gudi Padwa, people wear new clothes, prepare a different variety of sweets and make rangoli patterns.

This year Gudi Padwa will be celebrated on April 13, 2021, with all the COVID-19 restrictions because the cases are increasing day by day.
