Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar has reportedly signed up for an upcoming project with Marvel Studios. The 'Rock On' star is currently filming for the project in Thaliand's capital Bangkok, according to a report in the Indian Express. Neither the actor nor Marvel Studios have so far confirmed any details about the project or Akhtar's role in it.
While it is not confirmed so far if Akhtar will feature in a big-screen or a Disney+ series, the location of the filming hints towards the project the actor may star in.
It was earlier reported that additional filming for the upcoming series 'Ms Marvel' will be shot in Thailand from March onwards. And Akhtar is already in Bangkok for filming, according to the source quoted by the Indian Express.
"Farhan is currently stationed in Bangkok, along with an international cast and crew, for the shoot of a project with Marvel Studios, who are known to be one of the biggest film studios worldwide. All other details of the project are strictly under wraps," the source said.
While the title of Ms Marvel has been held by a number of characters, including Carol Danvers' Captain Marvel, the series will feature the superhero Kamala Khan, the first Muslim superhero to be featured in a Marvel comics series.
Khan is a Pakistani-origin American teenager from New Jersey's Jersey City and will be played by actor Iman Vellani. The series is expected to release on Disney+ later this year.
Meanwhile, Akhtar will next be seen in the upcoming sports drama 'Toofan'. The film is directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, who also tagged with Akhtar for the hit 2013 film 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag'.
It is scheduled to release on Amazon Prime Video on May 21.
