The reptile, a 5-foot-long Albino Python, reportedly belonged to a neighbour and had escaped before choosing to rest in the man’s toilet.

Meanwhile, upon seeing the reptile, the elderly man immediately called the local snake expert and police officers, who rushed to the scene to remove the unwelcomed guest.

In the meantime, the elderly man was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for his bite marks.

Snake expert Werner Stangl told local media the reptile was also not injured in the incident and was returned to its owner, who lived next door.

Police said the 24-year-old neighbour had a total of 11 non-venomous pet snakes and a gecko in his apartment. They were kept in specially-designed cages and drawers.

When asked, the neighbour told the officers that he was unaware that his python was missing. It wasn’t clear how the reptile managed to escape and make its way into the elderly man’s apartment.
