On Friday Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on Instagram that he and wife Priscilla Chan, 38, have welcomed their third daughter Aurelia Chan Zuckerberg. 

The couple is already parents to Maxima, 7, and August, 5.

“Welcome to the world, Aurelia Chan Zuckerberg! You’re such a little blessing,” the 38-year-old wrote as caption. 

Maxima Chan Zuckerberg, also known as “Max,” was born on November 30, 2015. Zuckerberg and Chan wrote a letter to her upon her birth, outlining their hopes for her future and their commitment to making the world a better place for her generation. Max has been featured in photos and videos on her parents’ social media accounts, often participating in family activities such as reading books or exploring nature.

In a letter to her upon her birth in 2015, they wrote, “We will do our part to make this happen, not only because we love you, but also because we have a moral responsibility to all children in the next generation.”

August Chan Zuckerberg, known as “August,” was born on August 28, 2017. Like her older sister, August has also appeared in photos and videos on her parents’ social media accounts, but little else is known about her.

Zuckerberg and Chan have spoken publicly about their commitment to raising their children with a strong sense of empathy and social responsibility, and have pledged to donate 99% of their Facebook shares to charitable causes over their lifetimes to make the world a better place for their children and future generations.

Zuckerberg has spoken in interviews about the importance of teaching children to care about others and to contribute to the world around them. In a 2019 interview with CBS This Morning, he said, “One of the things I’m really focused on is making sure that our kids grow up feeling like they have a sense of purpose and that they can make a positive impact in the world.”
