On October 19, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially opened the Gandhinagar Defense Expo 2022. The event, with the theme “Path to Pride,” is currently in its 12th year.
Gujarat’s Gandhinagar is hosting DefExpo 2022, India’s largest defence exhibition ever, with the goal of boosting the defence industry.
During the opening of the Def Expo22, Modi laid the cornerstone for 52 Wing Air Force Station Deesa.
“Defence Expo 2022 is displaying a grand picture of the New India, the resolution for which was taken by us during Amrit Kaal. It has the nation’s development, states’ participation, youth power, young dreams, young courage, and youth’s capabilities,” Modi said.
The inaugural edition of DefExpo for Indian companies is this year. The seven new defence businesses, which were formed from the former Ordnance Factory Board, also celebrate their one-year anniversary at the DefExpo.
The Indian Pavillion, a marquee pavilion of the Department of Defence Production, will convey India’s vision for 2047 while showcasing the development of indigenous defence products.
Due to its proximity to Gandhinagar’s expo site, Porbandar featured both a Coast Guard and navy presence.
The city, which possessed the longest indented coastline and remained equally dynamic in DefExpo, was advantageously situated on the state’s northwest coastal periphery. A pavilion was erected at the port city jetty, and the Indian Coast Guard ships were maintained accessible to tourists.
