Answer: Taj Trapezium Zone
The Taj Trapezium Zone (TTZ) is a 10,400-square-kilometer zone established around the Taj Mahal to preserve it from pollution. On December 30, 1996, the Supreme Court of India issued a judgement respecting industries covered by the TTZ in response to a PIL seeking to preserve the Taj Mahal from environmental contamination. It prohibited the use of coal/coke in industries located within the TTZ and mandated their conversion to natural gas, relocation outside the TTZ, or closure. The TTZ includes three World Heritage Sites: the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, and Fatehpur Sikri. TTZ is so named because it is formed like a trapezoid and is located around the Taj Mahal.
The Taj Trapezium Area is characterized geographically as a trapezoid between 26° 45N & 77° 15E to 27° 45N & 77° 15E in the West of the Taj Mahal and between 27° 00N & 78° 30E to 27° 30E in the East of the Taj Mahal, lying in the Agra Division of the State of Uttar Pradesh and the Bharatpur Division of the State of Rajasthan.
