Janhvi Kapoor, whose most recent film, Good Luck Jerry, has garnered appreciation, said that Nayanthara also gave the movie high marks. The 2018 Tamil film Kolamaavu Kokila, which stars Nayanthara in the lead role, is officially being remade as Good Luck Jerry.
Janhvi told Pinkvilla, “I read somewhere that she had said something positive and very sweet about the trailer and me. So I asked for her number and I messaged her and said ‘thank you so much, it means a lot to me. Your kind words have made my day.'”
She added, “And she actually replied which was very exciting to me and she said that ‘best of luck, and rooting for you,’ and she said ‘proud of you for doing such work so early in your career.’ I was like that’s a big one, that’s a huge one. I was just so excited that she replied.”
The film also starred Deepak Dobriyal, Mita Vashisht, and Neeraj Sood, and went went live on Disney+ Hotstar on July 28. In Bawaal, Janhvi will next be paired with Varun Dhawan. She will also appear in Mr. and Mrs. Mahi alongside Rajkumar Rao and Mili, both of which are supported by her father Boney Kapoor.
The movie released amid the raging Bollywood vs South debate.
Talking about it, the movie’s director told the Hindustan Times, “It has become a task to deliver a good film as the thought process of the audience has changed. Post the release, the way the media behaved toward our film was very surprising. The critics can give left, right and centre to a film, if not good. But, it happened quite the opposite for us. When you see the audience talking about the film on Twitter, Facebook, or Insta, it makes you even happier. Nowadays people can troll a film very easily online.”
