Argentina football goalkeeper Emiliano ‘Dibu’ Martinez seems to have reignited his feud with French football star Kylian Mbappe as he was seen holding a baby doll that had a cut-out picture of Mbappe’s face while he stood next to Lionel Messi at the World Cup victory parade in Buenos Aires on Tuesday.
A shirtless Martinez was seen all-smiles, hugging the toy baby, complete with nappy, to his chest, which had a cut-out, back and white picture of Mbappe’s frowning face on it. Messi seemed unfazed by the presence of the doll beside him.
This could complicate things between Messi and Mbappe when the two return to the same club that they play for, Paris Saint-Germain, in the French capital next month.
It was not the first time Martinez had trolled Mbappe following Argentina’s win against France in the FIFA World Cup 2022 final. It was reported that Martinez had held a ‘minute of silence’ for Mbappe in the Argentine dressing room after the game

This could have been in response to the comments the Frenchman said back in May. Speaking on the difference between European and South American football, Mbappe said that European nations are usually the favorites in tournaments because the nations are used to playing high-profile matches against one another. At the same time, he added that teams like Argentina and Brazil are not because “the football is not as developed” in the continent, citing it as the reason “why the most recent World Cup winners have been Europeans.”
However, it has not been totally bad blood between Martinez and Mbappe as the two embraced after the game when Martinez went to console Mbappe who had sunk down in defeat on the football field shortly after the final whistle sounded.
