Tesla CEO Elon Musk is the latest target of a group of hackers – Anonymous. They are often considered notorious by industry leaders and critics. The hacker group, which enjoys quite a fan following on social media, criticised Musk for constantly trolling cryptocurrency markets and hurting people and their investments.

“For the past several years you have enjoyed one of the most favorable reputations of anyone in the billionaire class because you have tapped into the desire that many of us have to live in a world with electric cars and space exploration,” the group issued a message on Twitter.

Commenting on the value of Bitcoins crashing, the group said, “Recently… people are beginning to see you as another narcissistic rich due who is desperate for attention.”

“Millions of retail investors were really counting on their crypto gains to improve their lives. Of course, they took the risk upon themselves when they invested…but your tweets this week show a clear disregard for the average working person,” the group claimed.

According to reports, the hacker group has been linked to cyber-attacks on police departments, politicians among others.

“You may think you are the smartest person in the room, but now you have met your match. We are Anonymous! We are legion. Expect us,” the video ended.

Minutes after the video was released, Musk tweeted: “Don’t kill what you hate, Save what you love.” However, there was no way to verify if this was in reply to the video or not.

Elon, recently announced that the company has stopped accepting bitcoin as payment for its cars. Tesla had only just started accepting bitcoin in late March. He also said that his company will no longer sell any more of the $1.5 billion stashes of bitcoin it purchased earlier this year.

The billionaire had also hyped another cryptocurrency, Dogecoin, saying it was “the people’s crypto.”
