Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Thursday put up another disciplined performance as they beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

A poor delivery by Kaul let Dhoni hammer it into the deep midwicket stands for a six.

CSK scored 139/4 while SRH was limited to 134.

MS Dhoni finished the game in style. He smashed a massive six and CSK qualified for the play-offs.

It was in 2020 when CSK couldn’t make it but this year, they are stronger than ever. Meanwhile, SRH is the first team to be out of the contention.

Josh Hazlewood registered his best-ever IPL bowling figures – 3/24 – while Dwayne Bravo picked up a couple of wickets after CSK opted to bowl.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha top-scored with 44 off 46 balls while no other batter could score more than 18 runs.

Shardul Thakur and Ravindra Jadeja picked a wicket apiece.

Earlier, Dhoni-led CSK won the toss and opted to bowl first. They have made a change to their side – Dwayne Bravo was replaced with Sam Curran.
