On Christmas day, a man was apprehended while trespassing on the Windsor Castle grounds. At the time, it was reported that there was no evidence of him having entered any of the rooms, and the Royal Family had been warned. Now, a disturbing video has emerged, detailing this individual’s plans to ‘assassinate’ Queen Elizabeth.

The Sun obtained this clip, where we see the man, identified as the 19-year-old Jaswant Singh Chail, wearing a hood, covering his face, and pointing a crossbow. His distorted voice apologized for what he’d done and what he would do. Mission-driven, Jaswant, known to his friends as Jas, outlined that the revenge was for those killed at the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. He iterated it was also for “those who have been killed, humiliated and discriminated on because of their race.”

Alternately known as the Amritsar massacre, the tragedy at Jallianwala Bagh unfurled in April 1919, while India was colonized by the British government. A crowd of protestors had gathered in the public gardens but were soon surrounded by British troops who opened fire. The atrocious incident in the Punjab region saw 379 people dead, and nearly 1,200 injured.

In the video, Jaswant Singh Chail noted that he is a Sikh, and identified as a ‘Sith’. The apprehended individual also discarded his birth name, embracing the persona of Darth Jones.

These are ‘Star Wars‘ references, and in George Lucas’ space adventure, Siths are those who oppose the Jedi and have welcomed the dark side of the Force. In the video too, a framed picture of Darth Malgus, the Sith lord, is visible.

The Metropolitan Police are already examining the contents of the video and stated at the time of his arrest, “The man was taken into custody and has undergone a mental health assessment—the has since been sectioned under the Mental Health Act and remains in the care of medical professionals”.

Jaswant Singh Chail’s father, Jasbir, also weighed in, speaking to the Daily Mail about something being “horribly wrong” with his son. He said, “We’ve not had a chance to speak to him but are trying to get him the help he needs. From our perspective, we are going through a difficult time. We are trying to resolve this issue and it’s not easy”.
