The clip shows the singer, dressed in a matching shirt and shorts combo, walking towards the DJ booth.

As soon as he was told ‘We’re live,’ Sir Elton took over the stage, microphone in hand. After greeting, he introduced the song, and said, ‘‘During lockdown I made this single – it came out yesterday – with Dua Lipa. So, I want you all to dance on your table and wave your hands and your handkerchiefs!’

The audience, caught unawares by their luck, immediately gathered around to enjoy the performance, with appreciative cheers.

The song Cold HArd (PNAU Remix) is a remix of two of the legendary singer’s most famous hits, the 1972’s ‘Rocket Man’, and the 1989’s ‘Sacrifice.’ The remix was a great hit, with the fans enjoying the unexpected but refreshing combination of the evergreen Sir Elton and Dua Lipa.

The Instagram video of the surprise has over 2.1million views, with fans cheering on Sir Elton for this special gift.

Dua Lipa and Sir Elton’s friendship goes back to April, when she helped him raise 2 million dollars for his AIDS Foundation, during a virtual preshow for his Oscar after-party. The ‘New Rules’ singer performed a duet with Sir Elton on his iconic track ‘Bennie and The Jets’, before performing her own songs.

With Sir Elton’s farewell tour dates having been postponed until 2023, due to the pandemic, this performance becomes even more special for his fans. So if you can’t get tickets to the 2023 tour, go to the nearest Cannes restaurant and maybe you too will get lucky.
