North Korea has imposed banned wearing skinny jeans, sporting mullet hairstyles and some body piercings. Kim Jong-un has said that this step has been taken to keep in line with the country’s crackdown on ‘capitalistic lifestyle’ and Western influences on the younger generation.
In a report by the South Korean broadcaster Yonhap news agency, the state run newspaper had recently warned the nation of doing more to stop “capitalistic culture from seeping into the country.”

Here is a list of things that have been banned recently by Kim Jong-un:
• Kim Jong-un has outlawed ‘non-socialist’ hairstyles such as the spike and mullet.
• Dyed hair has also been banned in North Korea.
• Men and women can only sport one out of the 215 other hairstyles authorised.
• An order has been issued by the provincial Youth League on hairstyles it deems proper to sport.
• Ripped or skinny jeans have been banned.
• Simultaneously, T-shirts with slogans have been prohibited.
• Nose and lip piercings have been banned too.
• Pop music has also been outlawed by the officials in North Korea after South Korean K-pop bands such as – BTS and Blackpink gained popularity.
