King Charles wore traditional military uniform that had a special nod to Queen Elizabeth II.

Black bearskin hats were worn with historic Welsh Guards uniforms and medals by King Charles and Prince William.

According to a Buckingham Palace press release, Charles’ uniform included Queen Elizabeth’s cypher on it because the monarch’s outfit customarily wears the cypher of their predecessor.

Princess Anne also wore traditional uniform.

While riding with her family, Anne changed into a slightly different outfit. According to the news release, she was dressed in the Blues and Royals’ ceremonial uniform because she is the colonel of that regiment.

According to the press release, Prince Edward, Anne’s brother, also rode a horse and was outfitted in full Ceremonial Guard Order of the London Guards.

Camilla wore a red silk coatdress that paid tribute to the royal guards who were marching at the parade.

According to the press release, Camilla donned a red silk coatdress by Fiona Claire as a tribute to the Grenadier Guards’ uniform and a Philip Treacy hat that was intended to mirror the guards’ black bearskin headgear. In January, the Queen was appointed colonel of the Grenadier Guards, according to the press announcement.

Kate Middleton wore a green coatdress and matching hat in honor of the Irish Guards.

A royal spokesperson confirmed to Insider that Philip Treacy created Kate’s headpiece and Andrew Gn created her coatdress.

According to a March Sky News article, the princess was promoted to colonel of the Irish Guards.

The royal children were also dressed up for the event.

Princess Charlotte, 8, donned a white frock and matching heels, while Prince George, 9, wore a suit. Prince Louis, the youngest sibling, aged 5, donned bright-red shorts, a blue jacket, and high socks.

Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, wore a cream dress and matching hat.

According to a palace spokesperson who talked to Insider, the duchess was dressed in a Beulah gown and headpiece.

She rode in the same carriage as Timothy Laurence, Princess Anne’s husband, who was dressed in a suit and top hat.
