David Warner is known for his aggressive left-handed batting style. Warner was purchased by Delhi Capitals for Rs. 2 crore for the 2022  season of the Indian Premier League. 

David Warner is a former Australian national team captain and international cricketer from Australia. Warner is the first Australian player to be selected for a national team in any format despite having no prior first-class experience. In domestic cricket, he has represented New South Wales and the Sydney Thunder. Between 2015 and 2018, he was Australia’s Vice-Captain for a number of Tests and ODI series.

David Warner was born on October 27, 1986, in Paddington, an eastern Sydney suburb. He is a left-handed opening batsman. At the age of 15, he made his first-grade debut for the Eastern Suburbs club, and he later toured Sri Lanka with the Australian under-19s, earning a rookie contract with the state team.

Warner made his first-class debut for New South Wales against Western Australia in the final match of the 2008–09 Sheffield Shield season at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Warner set the record for the highest Australian one-day domestic score while playing for New South Wales. He broke Jimmy Maher’s record of 187 by scoring 197 of 141 balls which includes 20 fours and 10 sixes.

Warner was bought by Sun Risers Hyderabad in the 2014 IPL auction. In 2015 he became the captain of Sun Risers Hyderabad. He led the team for the 2016 IPL season. He was retained as a captain for the team for 2018, 2019, and 2020 IPL seasons. In the 2021 IPL season, he was replaced by Kane Williamson as captain. He later declared that he no longer would remain in the team for the future games on his Social media. Brad Haddin, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s assistant coach at the time, later revealed that the decision to drop him was not based on cricket.

Warner has been one of the best batsmen in the Indian Premier League. He has three Orange Caps and has scored over 5000 runs.
