Lucy Sophia Thomson, the reigning Miss Scotland, allegedly bit, and racially abused a male colleague at a rugby event in Edinburgh on Saturday.

According to a video made by an attendee at the sports event, security guards were seen trying to escort the 24-year-old pageant queen out of the venue. There were accusations that Thomson physically assaulted “someone in her workplace” and called him the n-word. She was reportedly drunk at the time.

A spectator who filmed the footage told Daily Record that Thomson goes to school with him. “I recognized her from school. We had clocked her earlier in the day, we knew she was there. It was a case of her being too drunk and being escorted away and she had tried to fight back. She has taken everything including her Miss Scotland title out of her social media bio. But a lot of people saw it and filmed it – you couldn’t not see it happening. She’s meant to be an ambassador for Scotland. If this was just some other person nobody would care but in that context it’s different,” he said.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9 pm on Saturday, 17 June 2023, we received a report of a disturbance and a hate crime at Peffermill Road in Edinburgh. Inquiries are ongoing.”
