The incident occurred against the backdrop of a spate of horrific Hamas terror attacks and war crimes perpetrated against Israeli civilians, including acts of mass murder, torture, rape, beheadings, and kidnappings, on October 7, 2023. In response, Israel launched a retaliatory military campaign dubbed “Swords of Iron.”

Who is Shamena Sami?

Sami’s controversial remarks and behavior have drawn significant attention to her background and activities. A video captured Sami at the rally adorned in a keffiyeh, where she was asked about the fate of the world’s 12 million Jews in the event of Hamas taking control of Israel. In response, Sami callously stated, “Go to hell. That’s the literal slogan.”

Further scrutiny into Sami’s conduct revealed concerning online behavior. On October 20, 2023, following a tweet by California governor Gavin Newsom about his trip to Israel to meet with those affected by the recent terrorist attacks, Sami tweeted a disturbing message, stating, “I hope you die on your journey there.”

Additionally, Sami retweeted a post on October 15, 2023, containing an offensive term directed at supporters of the Zionist movement, branding them as “filthy z*0n**ts [Zionists].”

Publicly listed as a client service associate at Lenox Advisors in New York, Sami’s online profile also indicates her graduation from Queens College (QC) of the City University of New York (CUNY) in 2017, where she completed her bachelor’s degree.

Her academic history extends to her time at the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) from 2012 to 2014.
