Venkatesh Iyer, born December 25, 1994, in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, is a left-handed batsman, who has been recruited by Kolkata Knight Riders for the Indian Premier League 2021. Iyer, who identifies himself as an all-rounder, made headlines when he missed a double century by two runs in a Vijay Hazare match against Punjab. In 10 First-class matches, he has scored 545 runs, highest being 93. He has an average of 36.33 and a strike rate of 54.33. Even though he doesn’t have a century to his name, he has six half-centuries under his belt.

In 24 List A matches, he has scored 849 runs, highest being 198. An average of 47.16 and a strike rate of 98.72, Iyer has two hundreds to his name and three half-centuries.

Iyer made his First-class debut on December 6, 2018, in Indore. On December 11, 2015, he made his List A debut and on March 25, 2015, the right arm medium pacer made his T20 debut.
