The trailer for the highly anticipated third season of Disney+’s The Mandalorian has been released, featuring the return of fan-favorite character Grogu and teasing the possible appearance of Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker. The trailer shows that Grogu has chosen to become a Mandalorian like his adoptive father, Din Djarin, but continues to experience traumatic flashbacks to his past with the Jedi Order.

In the trailer, Grogu and Djarin are seen flying together in a modified N-1 Naboo starfighter, which Grogu previously abandoned his Jedi training with Luke Skywalker to fly. While Djarin seeks forgiveness for his past, Grogu continues to struggle with his dark past, including the events of Order 66, where he somehow survived the Jedi Purge led by Anakin Skywalker and his clone troops.
The trailer features a new flashback to Order 66, where a team of Jedi protect Grogu from an unknown attacker attempting to cut through a sealed door with lightsabers. This has led to speculation that Anakin Skywalker, now known as Darth Vader, could make a cameo appearance in the series. The potential face-to-face encounter between Vader and Grogu would be a major moment in the Star Wars canon and tie the child even closer to the Skywalker legacy.

While it is unknown whether Christensen will physically appear in the series, the possibility of a distant or obscured appearance has fans buzzing with excitement. The trailer also promises to reveal how Grogu survived the Jedi Purge when the new season premieres on March 1st.
The Mandalorian has been a massive success for Disney+ since its debut in 2019, with its unique blend of action, humor, and heart appealing to both die-hard Star Wars fans and newcomers alike. The series has also spawned several spin-off shows, including The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, and Rangers of the New Republic, all set in the same timeline and interconnected with The Mandalorian.
