The Delhi High
Court on Friday dismissed the plea of fugitive diamantaire Mehul Choksi, who
sought a pre-screening and delay in release of the upcoming Netflix’s documentary ‘Bad Boys
Billionaires’, reported ANI.

Advocate Vijay Aggarwal, representing Choksi, had on Wednesday sought the postponement of the documentary’s release.

He said, Choksi saw the trailer and has been receiving phone calls from across the world, asking him whether he was a part of the documentary.

“Thereafter, the petitioner (Choksi) discovered that one of the persons seen speaking in the trailer was one Mr Pavan C Lall, who had written a book titled ‘Flawed: The Rise and Fall of India’s Diamond Mogul Nirav Modi,’ where also the petitioner’s name had been commingled with Nirav Modi’s,” the plea said.

Airing on
September 2, the documentary will shed light on the lives of some of India’s
notorious billionaires, including the likes of Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi,
Subrata Roy and Byrraju Ramalinga Raju as they plan, plot and manoeuvre through
their rises and falls.

According
to Netflix, the documentary will dive into the stories of these most famous
billionaires of India. It is interjected with quotes and commentary from people
who know these businessmen, and also comes with expert commentary.

Comments
from financial experts in the show provide a detailed view of the nature of the
unstable operations undertaken by each of these businessmen.

Along with his nephew Nirav Modi, Choksi is accused in the nearly USD 2 billion Punjab National Bank scam. He left the country last year, and was granted citizenship of Antigua and Barbuda.
