In what Oreo refers to as a “cookie rarity strategy”  certain of the 16 Pokemon Oreos are intentionally made tough to locate, just like some Pokemon are particularly difficult to capture. It is not guaranteed or even likely that every bag will include all 16 Pokemon cookies. For Pokemon merchandise collectors, the task is daunting.

The deal will remain “as long as supplies last.” Pre-order Pokemon Oreos on Oreo’s website starting today if you want to get a head start on the cookie hunt.

An art exhibit on the Venice Beach Boardwalk in Los Angeles, which will run through Oct. 3, will include over 8,000 3D copies of Pokemon Oreos placed on an 8′ by 22′ mural in a Pikachu-themed design. Oreo’s social media channels, notably its Instagram, are actively promoting the mural for cookie lovers outside of Los Angeles.
