The ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ actor was spotted at the screening event of ‘Sardar Uddham’ on Friday. Other celebrities like Kiara Advani and Siddharth Malhotra were also present at the event.
Sardar Udham was released on Amazon Prime Video on October 16 and has so far received positive reviews.
Meanwhile, the film’s director Shoojit Sircar said Sardar Udham was his passion project for the past 20 years when he first visited the Jallianwala Bagh massacre site and reflects his idea of a revolutionary perfectly.
It’s my perspective of how I see a revolutionary. There are many ways to see a revolutionary, it’s my vision,” Sircar said here at the India Today Conclave 2021.
Vicky Kaushal, who along with director Sircar attended the India Today Conclave event, also shared what he loved about the scrip and why the role holds significant value in his heart.
He said he loved the fact that Sircar was not presenting Udham Singh as a superhero.
“The way he wanted to show Sardar Udham was not as a superhero. He saw him as a child, a common man, one of us, who got affected by the events of that one night. For me, it became the quest to find out that thing inside him that he couldn’t change. That pain he couldn’t let go of for 21 years,” PTI reported.
‘Sardar Uddham’ revolves around the life of a brave revolutionary freedom fighter who assassinated then-Punjab Lieutenant Governor Michael O’Dwyer in London.
