Christopher Briney gained popularity with his compelling portrayal of Conrad Fisher in the television adaptation of Jenny Han’s novel The Summer I Turned Pretty on Amazon Prime Video. The second season aired on July 14.

In the second season of The Summer I Turned Pretty, viewers will follow the familiar main characters from the Jenny Han trilogy as they navigate the complexities of their ongoing love triangles and family conflicts. Alongside the main characters, Season 2 introduced some new faces, including Conrad and Jeremiah’s cousin Skye (played by Elsie Fisher) and their mother Julia (portrayed by Kyra Sedgwick).

Who is Christopher Briney?

Christopher Briney was born in Hartford, Connecticut, to parents who were both actors and had originally met in New York City. He also has a sister. Briney received his education at Waterbury Arts Magnet School and further honed his theatrical skills through a five-week intensive program at Wesleyan University in 2015.

In 2016, Briney moved to New York City to pursue his studies at Pace University. He dedicated himself to his craft and successfully graduated with a BFA in acting in 2020. While attending university, Briney also worked at a Trader Joe’s located in the Lower East Side, showcasing his determination and work ethic.

In 2021, Briney, who was relatively unknown at the time, secured a role in the biographical film Dalíland after catching the attention of director Mary Harron. Before joining the cast of Dalíland, Briney had submitted an audition tape for The Summer I Turned Pretty. While filming in Liverpool, during the production of Dalíland, Briney was invited for a callback and performed a chemistry read over Zoom.

His character in The Summer I Turned Pretty later became immensely popular.

In 2023, Briney, alongside his co-stars Lola Tung and Gavin Casalegno from The Summer I Turned Pretty, presented at the prestigious MTV Movie & TV Awards.
