Following a Central Investigation Bureau (CBI) raid at the residence of Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Friday, August 19, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that Arvind Kejriwal should stop his treatment of people as fools.

“Arvind Kejriwal should stop treating people as fools, & should stop addressing the people of the country. Delhi CM did not even suspend Satyendar Jain when he went to jail. AAP, Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia’s real face has come in front of the public today,” the Union Minister told ANI.

The 47-year-old added that despite all of his best efforts, a corrupt person will always remain corrupt. Thakur also pointed out that it is not the first time the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has been accused of corruption, referring to Satyendar Jain, another member of Arvind Kejriwal’s cabinet.

“No matter how hard a corrupt person tries to prove himself innocent, he will still remain corrupt. This is not the first case of corruption by AAP. There has been huge corruption in the liquor stores in Delhi,” he quipped.

The AAP leadership and Delhi ministers welcomed the CBI raid at Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s house on Friday. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the raid was a result of the international recognition of the AAP government’s work in Delhi and accused the central government of harassing his party leaders.

The Delhi CM was referring to a report published by The New York Times, one of the leading newspapers in the United States, written by Emmy-nominated journalist Karan Deep Singh. The report detailed the Delhi government’s reformed education policy that has completely changed public education in the city-state.

Kejriwal also urged supporters and party workers to let CBI do its work and maintained the federal investigation agency will not find anything at Sisodia’s house, similar to the previous raids aimed at other AAP leaders.
