In 2023, 52-year-old Lauren Sanchez will travel to space. The 58-year-old Amazon founder Jeff Bezos‘ girlfriend recently spoke to CNN and discussed how feasible she thinks space travel is. Before Lauren revealed her ambitions to travel there with an all-female crew, Jeff, who also established aerospace manufacturer and spaceflight services company Blue Origin, said he thought everyone would be able to travel to space in the future.

Who is Lauren Sanchez?

Lauren Sanchez is an American media personality who belongs to Albuquerque, New Mexico. She rose to prominence as an entertainment reporter and news anchor.

Sanchez was born on December 19, 1969 and has a son named Nikko, who was born in 2001, when she was in a  relationship with former NFL tight end Tony Gonzalez. She married Patrick Whitesell, a Hollywood agent and founding partner of the Endeavor talent agency, in August 2005. Sanchez and Whitesell have a son, Evan, born in 2006, and a daughter, Ella, born in 2008.

Sanchez began her career as a desk assistant at Los Angeles’ KCOP-TV. She also worked as an anchor and reporter at KTVK-TV in Phoenix before becoming a reporter for the syndicated entertainment show Extra. Sanchez then moved to Fox Sports Net, where she received another Emmy nomination in 2008 for her work as an anchor and correspondent for the sports magazine Going Deep, as well as an entertainment reporter for FSN’s Best Damn Sports Show Period.

During season 2 of The View in February 2000, she finished second in the nationwide hosting competition. Sanchez took over as the host of FOX‘s well-known dancing competition So You Think You Can Dance in 2005. In 2010, Sanchez was featured in People magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful” issue. She established Black Ops Aviation, the first female-owned aerial film and production company, in 2016. Sanchez now focuses on film and television projects that allow her to put her skills as a licensed airplane and helicopter pilot to use.

She has acted in several films in her career, most notably in Fight Club in 1999, Fantastic Four in 2005 and White House Down in 2013.
