Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) increased marginally on Monday, November 22, 2021. Gold futures were trading at Rs 48851.00 per 10 gm, up 23 points or 0.05%, in the Indian market. In global markets, gold was priced at $1,848.39 per oz.

Platinum was trading at $1,038.00 while palladium was trading at $2,058.50. Silver futures were trading at Rs 65644.00 per kg, up 88 points or 0.13%. In the spot market, the highest purity gold was sold at Rs 49,235 while silver was priced at Rs 66,486 on Thursday, according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association.

Gold price today in Chennai for 24 carats (10 grams) is Rs 50,700 while the 22 carat (10 grams) is Rs 46,475. In the national capital Delhi, the Gold rate for 24 carats (10 grams) is Rs 52,530 while 22 carats (10 grams) is Rs 48,150. The rate of Gold for 24 carats (10 grams) in Kolkata is Rs 51,200 while 22 carat (10 grams) is Rs 48,500. On the other hand, the price of 24-carat gold (10 grams) in Mumbai is Rs 49,100 while 22-carat gold (10 grams) is Rs 48,100.

Gold has struggled this year after hitting a record high of Rs 56,200 in 2020 as the dollar strengthened on hopes of a swift economic recovery as Covid vaccination picked up the pace.

Global equity markets also retreated today as investors grew increasingly concerned about a growing energy crisis and spiking inflation.

Separately, the international oil benchmark Brent crude dropped 0.6% to USD 78.84 per barrel while the rupee slips 5 paise to 74.35 against the US dollar in early trade.

Copper futures were trading at Rs732.95 down -1.50% while Nickel and Aluminium futures were trading at Rs 1527.00 and Rs 211.00 per Kg respectively on MCX.
