Maharashtra Education minister Varsha Gaikwad on Thursday shared the schedule for the Maharashtra SSC and HSC (Board) Examinations. The dates for the 12th Board exams has been set from April 23, 2021 while for the 10th Board exams will start from April 29, 2021. 

According to local reports, Gaikwad said that the practical exams for Class 12 or HSC will be held between April 1 and 22, and for Class 10 or SSC between April 9 and 28. The exams for HSC will go on till May 29 and for SSC the last exam will be conducted on May 31. Gaikwad also added that the authorities are trying to declare the results of Classes 12 and 10 by July-end and August-end, respectively. 

The exams are usually conducted in the February-March period have been shifted by a month owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The Maharashtra MSBSHSE board slashed the syllabus by 25% given the pressure on the educational institutions and students. Gaikwad also confirmed that approximately 38% students were attending classes in schools as on January 18. Schools and junior colleges for Classes 9 to 12 had reopened in parts of the state earlier this month based on the COVID-19 situation in respective areas.
