The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), on Tuesday, declared the class 10 board exam results on their official website – cbseresults.nic.in. Over 57,000 students scored above 95% marks, while the number of candidates scoring between 90 and 95% went up to over two lakh, according to the board. This year, CBSE achieved the highest ever pass percentage of 99.04% with girls outshining boys by a slender margin of 0.35%.

The 10th board exams, scheduled to begin from May 4, were cancelled due to the second wave of COVID-19. The results were prepared on the basis of an alternative means of assessment.

It was around 10:30 AM that CBSE announced that the results will be announced in one hour – 12 noon on August 3. This announcement took students and parents by surprise. And after the results were announced, people were overwhelmed with the steep spike in marks.
