A comedy movie called 80 For Brady, starring Hollywood veterans Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and Rita Moreno, is set to release on February 3, 2023. In an exclusive look shared by People magazine, one can see the three actors donning Tom Brady’s famous number 12 shirt as they take a trip to watch their favourite NFL player in action at the 2017 Super Bowl LI.

The trailer for the film has just been released. Check it out right here:

The official synopsis of the film says that it is “inspired by the true story of four best friends living life to the fullest when they take a wild trip to the 2017 Super Bowl LI to see their hero Tom Brady play.”

Tomlin shared her excitement about the project, saying, “I’d seen a video of one of the women getting a call from Tom Brady to tell her that her grandson had pitched the idea to his agent and he was so taken with the story he was going to make a movie about their adventure.”

Fonda also has praises for the legendary quarterback, about whom she said, “He was so sweet and generous and, could it be possible — humble?”, further adding, “He looks like a big, beautiful 20-year-old whom I’m going to see play homecoming in his sophomore year. He’s actually 40ish, which is a bit mind-boggling; he’s the quarterback, and he is my son.”

The ensemble comedy is set to be directed by Kyle Marvin. Tom Brady is himself producing the film. The film was announced in February 2022 when Brady had announced his retirement. However, when the 45-year-old decided to come back, Marvin said that it was “certainly news to us, so we had to adapt.”
