Netflix series Money Heist has a huge audience and fanbase in India. The show is so immensely popular that we eagerly wait for the next season once the current one is over. Many had even thought of a desi version of the popular series. How excited are you about the desi version of Money Heist?

According to the latest update, Arjun Rampal will play the professor in the Indian remake of the show and who can direct a crime thriller better than our very own experts Abbas-Mustan. Reports are that the popular filmmaking duo is planning to remake the show into a film and Arjun Rampal has been roped in to play the lead, the professor. The film is said to be titled Three Monkeys.

A source close to filmmakers told Pinkvilla, “Arjun Rampal’s character is on the lines of the professor from Money Heist, whereas Mustafa along with two other actors will be playing the robbers. All the three robbers, alongside the professor, will have a unique dimension, with all working together for a hidden motive of personal gain.”

The source added, “Abbas-Mustan have been  masters at adapting international thrillers and in the same way, they have brought in their own flavor to the narrative of Three Monkeys”.

 The duo is all set to shoot the film at multiple locations starting from Mumbai and it will release in the second half of 2022. The film will go on floors later this month. The duo will return to film direction after five years after Machine, which marks the launch of Abbas’ son Mustafa.

Khiladi, Baazigar, Soldier, Ajnabee, Aitraaz, Humraaz, Race 1 and 2 are some memorable films of Abbas-Mustan. Currently, they are preparing for the release of Penthouse on Netflix featuring Bobby Deol and Arjun Kapoor.

Arjun Rampal will next be seen in Dhaakad alongside Kangana Ranaut. He also has The Battle of Bhima Koregaon and Hari Hara Veera Lallu in upcoming releases.
