Actor Sunil Grover is recovering at a Mumbai hospital after undergoing heart surgery, ETimes reports. He is said to have been diagnosed with blockages in his heart.

According to sources, he was filming for his upcoming series before he left for his surgery. Despite his health condition, the actor recently shot for a web series in Pune.

Bollywood’s ace photographer Viral Bhayani has also confirmed the news on his Instagram handle. “Actor Sunil Grover is recuperating after heart surgery at the Asian hospital in the city. The doctors say he is safe and is improving well. Prayers and love to Sunil,” he wrote. Several of Sunil fans have wished him a speedy recovery in the comments section.

The 44-year-old was last seen in Snow Flower, a Zee5 web series that featured Ashish Vidyarthi, Ranvir Shorey, Girish Kulkarni, and Mukul Chadda. He was also seen in Tandav with Saif Ali Khan last year and played a pivotal role in the series that streamed on Amazon Prime Video.

The political drama was caught in controversy when the show was accused of hurting religious sentiments, and the producers were even served legal notices.

On the big screen, Sunil Grover was last seen in Bharat with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. He played the role of Salman’s friend in the movie. He is also rumored to be a part of Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming untitled film, which is being directed by Atlee.

The actor-comedian is best known for his roles as Dr Mashoor Gulati and Guththi in ‘The Kapil Sharma Show.’ The actor enjoys a huge fan base and had won millions of hearts of many with his performances and witty comic timing.
