Amazon Riddle (21st August 2021): A blue house has blue bricks; a yellow house has a yellow bricks. What is a green house made of?

a) Green bricks

b) Glass

c) Brown-bricks

d) Paper

Answer: (b) Glass

A greenhouse is a glass building where
temperature and humidity may be regulated for the growing or protection of
plants. A greenhouse is meant to retain heat from the sun’s rays inside,
keeping the plants warm even when the weather outside is chilly.

Despite the lack of a transparent layer
of material covering the Earth, some molecules in our atmosphere absorb the
Earth’s heat, thereby trapping part of it. This is known as the greenhouse
effect, and the molecules responsible for trapping the heat are known as greenhouse
gases.

Although greenhouse gases do not have the
same hard surface as greenhouse glass, they do have a similar impact in keeping
our planet warm, therefore the term “Greenhouse Effect” is
appropriate. The greenhouse effect maintains our planet’s temperatures moderate
and appropriate for life.

Carbon dioxide,
water vapour, methane, ozone, nitrous oxide, and fluorinated gases are examples
of greenhouse gases. Because they absorb heat, these molecules in our
atmosphere are known as greenhouse gases. Some of these gases may not be
abundant in our atmosphere, yet they can have a significant influence.

The heat energy is eventually
released by these molecules, which is frequently absorbed by another greenhouse
gas molecule.
