A day after Bollywood couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt tied the knot, the ‘Rockstar’ actor’s mother Neetu Kapoor shared an image from the wedding ceremony and dedicated it to her deceased husband, Rishi Kapoor.
The image features the mother-son duo smiling at the camera. While Ranbir is seen sporting an ivory sherwani and a traditional turban, his mother, with her arm wrapped around him, is seen in a colourful lehenga.
Sharing the image, the 63-year-old wrote, “This is dedicated to Kapoor Saab. Your wish has been fulfilled.”
Uploaded an hour ago, the Instagram post has garnered over 178,000 likes and more than 1,400 comments.

Months before his death, Rishi Kapoor was planning his son’s wedding with Alia, according to filmmaker Subhash Ghai.

“I remember in January 2020, when I had gone to meet Rishi Kapoor at his home to invite him to receive ‘WWI Maestro award 2020’ at our annual convocation of Whistling Woods International. We had a long chat as good friends,” Ghai explained.“He was so happy to share with me that they were planning his son Ranbir’s marriage with Alia in December 2020 in a big way,” he said.
“I am so happy that Ranbir and Alia are finally fulfilling his dream. I wish both a happy married life, the way I always did for Rishi and Neetu Kapoor,” the filmmaker added.
On Thursday, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor tied the knot at Vastu, the ‘Sanju’ actor’s Bandra residence. Sharing snippets from the wedding, Bhatt wrote, “Today, surrounded by our family and friends, at home … in our favourite spot – the balcony we’ve spent the last 5 years of our relationship – we got married.”
“Thank you for all the love and light during this very momentous time in our lives. It has made this moment all the more special,” she added.
