The 14th season of Bigg Boss premiered on Saturday night amid the coronavirus, as the host, Salman Khan said the show will give a fitting reply to 2020, as it has been difficult so far.

With the theme – ‘Ab Scene Paltega, Kyunki Bigg Boss Dega 2020 Ko Jawab (Things will change as Bigg Boss will confront 2020’) – the Bigg Boss house is equipped with a shopping mall, theatre, spa, and dining area.

During the launch of the show, Khan said, “This is that year where the most negative word is positive,” referring to the COVID-19 pandemic. “This lockdown has made people learn many household chores be it washing the utensils, mopping the floor and most importantly it has taught us to appreciate the past,” he added.

This season’s contestants TV couple Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla, actors Eijaz Khan, Jasmin Bhasin, Nishant Singh Malkhani, Pavitra Punia, singers Rahul Vaidya, Jaan Kumar, son of veteran singer Kumar Sanu, Shehzad Deol, a model, singer-model Sara Gurpal, and south actor Nikki Tamboli.

In another twist of the season, the show witnessed entries of “Toofani Seniors” Hina Khan, Sidharth Shukla, and Gauahar Khan in the “Bigg Boss” house. The former contestants and season winners will take over the reins of the house and will be instrumental in making important decisions for the first 15 days.

Notably, Siddharth Shukla won the ‘Bigg Boss 13’ previous year and became the most popular contestants in the history of the show, according to Ormax media. He was also the most tweeted contestant of Bigg Boss 13. He was voted the most favourite contestant of Bigg Boss 13 in polls conducted by many news channels.

‘Ye Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ fame Hina Khan was the first runner up of Bigg Boss 11 and became quite popular for her fashion sense during the season. She was also the most loved contestant on Bigg Boss 11, according to Ormax media.

Gauhar Khan, model and actor, entered the Bigg Boss house in 2013 and won the show that season.
