Babylon, the latest film by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Damien Chazelle, is set to get a wide release on December 23, 2022. The film, which stars Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie in leading roles, was earlier set to get a limited release for Christmas 2022 while the wide release date was scheduled for January 6.
The new release date for Babylon comes on the heels of A Man Called Otto’s wide release date being postponed to January 13. The Tom Hanks-starrer will now get a limited theatrical release in New York and Los Angeles in Christmas this year.

Pitt and Robbie are collaborating on this film after their successful 2019 film, Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, which also starred Leonardo DiCaprio and was helmed by Quentin Tarantino.

The film will center around the character Manny Torres, a Mexican-American actor who comes to Hollywood in the 1920s to make a name for himself. The role will be essayed by Diego Calva.
This is not the first time that the release date of Babylon has been shifted. Earlier, the film was set for a limited release on December 25, 2021. However, it ended up getting postponed due to COVID-induced concerns.

The movie has been shot in California’s Santa Clarita, which has also served as the location of the iconic Charlie Chaplin film, Modern Times. According to Deadline, Margot Robbie, who became a household name after Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street, has put in a stellar performance in the film and might be the subject of an Oscar buzz as soon as it hits the screen.
The film’s trailer was launched at the CinemaCon in April 2022. It was later shown by Chazelle at the Toronto International Film Festival.
