Brahmastra director Ayan Mukerji has just released a pre-release trailer for the film. The nearly one-minute video introduces the audience to a number of the film’s characters, including Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Nagarjuna.

It shows Ranbir Kapoor’s Shiva again playing with fire, but this time we know that his goal in the film is to find three artefacts that are part of a larger puzzle that has the potential to destroy the universe. His Guru, played by Amitabh Bachchan, orders him to complete his task. We also get glimpses of every other astra in the Astraverse.

The video begins with Mouni Roy searching for Brahmastra before transitioning to Amitabh Bachchan telling Ranbir Kapoor a secret and entrusting him with the task of saving the world. The advertisement concludes by introducing the audience to several “Ancient Indian Astras,” including the Nandi Astra, Vanarastra, Prabhastra, Pawanastra, Gajastra, Nag Dhanush, Jalastra, and Agnyastra. Ayan Mukerji shared a promotional video on Instagram on Saturday.

Brahmastra, which has been in the works since 2014, will be released in three instalments. The film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu around the world on September 9.
