“I don’t know who I am anymore,” opens the teaser trailer for the show’s 60th-anniversary special episode, leaving Whovians screaming in Gallifreyan as they were taken back to the heartbreaking and iconic last line of the Tenth Doctor, “I don’t want to go.”

In preparation for Ncuti Gatwa taking over as The Doctor, Russell T. Davies, the show’s creator, will return. Doctor Who will also go all out for its 60th anniversary the following year. It even has a fresh, new logo. The iconic science fiction series appears to be more popular than ever after relocating to Disney+ outside of the UK.

A remarkable image of David Tennant as The Fourteenth Doctor wearing a well-known but somewhat different suit has been released by the BBC. Although the suit and jacket are a little sharper than they were when he was the Tenth Doctor, this time he has only done one button up.

“A tumultuous clash with the Master saw the Doctor being forcefully regenerated into her best enemy – and back again, with the help of Yaz and a few more of the Doctor’s friends. However, the Doctor was left mortally wounded by the experience; and after saying goodbye to Yaz, she regenerated peacefully and alone,” a brief official bio on the official website read.

It added, “But the new Doctor discovered his new face was in fact an old face – that of one of his former incarnations! What has caused him to revisit his old appearance? Is there more at work here than even the Doctor can understand? Only time (and space) will tell…”

Jodie Whittaker’s stint as the time-traveling hero, which she took over from Peter Capaldi in 2018, was brought to a halt by the long-running BBC show in October 2022. In order to make room for a new cast and a returning showrunner in season 14, she parted ways with Doctor Who showrunner Chris Chibnall.

Ncuti Gatwa, who starred in Sex Education, has been revealed as the Doctor’s upcoming incarnation. The 29-year-old is only a couple of years older than Matt Smith was in 2011, when he attained the record for becoming the Time Lord’s youngest actor by portraying him.

Gatwa or Tennant – Who is the next Doctor?

Tennant is not dressed in his brown suit and tennis shoes as the Tenth Doctor, based on what we have seen of the regeneration. The outfit that Jodie Whitaker wears while she transforms into Tennant also changes, which has never happened before. Therefore, something is unquestionably not what it should be.
