Drake got hit in his arm by a cell phone thrown on stage by a fan during the first day of the highly anticipated “It’s All A Blur” tour on Wednesday at Chicago’s United Center.

After the original opening shows were delayed, the concert kicked off in Chicago. The setlist had over 50 hits which meant that the concert was going to be long. The singer was singing Ginuwine’s So Anxious when a cell phone was seen flying into the air before grazing his left arm. It made Drake look at the object which had hit him but he did not pause his performance.

Here is a video of the incident:

Off camera, some of his fans can be heard asking, “What was that?” Someone else yells, “A phone!”

The video was originally posted by Jordyn Taylor on TikTok. She wrote, “Someone threw a phone at papi” on the TikTok.

Drake was the epitome of professionalism, unlike many other artists who probably would have taken things personally. He doesn’t miss a note despite having a phone hit him in the arm and bounce off the stage. Social media users can hear supporters talking about what just happened in the video of the incident. But it’s as blatant as it gets in the video. The video captures the phone striking the rapper in the middle of his song, even though you can’t see who threw it or where exactly it came from.

The eagerly awaited “It’s All A Blur” tour, featuring 21 Savage and Drake, began yesterday night. Following the cancellation of the initial opening performances, the first performance of the lengthy run was held in Chicago. A long repertoire featuring numerous hits from both artists was performed for the audience. In the aftermath of Beyonce and Taylor Swift’s and other artists’ extensive tours, Drake also improved his stage design skills.

In a stage full of grandeur, featuring a larger-than-life Virgil Abloh statue and a younger Drake who may or may not be a hologram, it was a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment.

Drake also promised fans that he had “an album coming out soon,” which is likely the For All The Dogs record he previously hinted around the publication of his poetry book a few weeks ago, according to various fan accounts.

The It’s All A Blur Tour with Drake and Savage will make a stop at the United Centre on Thursday, July 6.
