With the Ghost Series 3 releasing its first episode next Monday (August 9th). Here’s a recap of the BBC TV show’s previous seasons to keep you updated for the third season. The second season was directed by Tom Kingsley who had also directed the first season. The first and season had 6 episodes of half an hour each.

Alison (Charlotte Ritchie) had started to see ghosts at her house. The ghosts and Alison and Mike came to a mutual understanding. Alison helped the ghosts to understand the modern world by showing them documentaries or reading books. Mike can’t see ghosts, so he made a ghost chart of who is who.

Ghost Series 2 focussed more on the ghosts’ characters, they had major roles in the main and subplot. The characters like Tudor Humphrey, Thomas Thorne, and the Captain’s background was brought into focus.

The season started with Alison and Mike (Kiell Simth-Bynoe) trying to make money for renovating their Button House. The season also sees Thomas and other ghosts sharing their story with Alison, whereas Mike struggles with his own memory of his wife’s past. We also see Mike staying alone at the Button House.

The second season also brings its focus to the traumatic deaths of the ghosts. The show also highlighted the clash of culture between the ghosts who belong to different eras of history. The Ghost series also returned for a special Christmas episode.

The third season will see fewer characters due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The upcoming season will have Charlotte Ritchie as Alison, Kiell Smith-Bynoe as Mike, Matthew Baynton as Thomas Thorne, Ben Willbond as the Captain, Martha Howe-Douglas as Lady Fanny Button, Katy Wix as Mary, Lolly Adefope as Kitty and Him Howick as Pat Butcher.
