Indira Devi, the estranged wife of veteran actor Krishna and mother of Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu, died in the early hours of Wednesday in Hyderabad due to ill health. She was reportedly 70 years old.

Indira Devi had been suffering from age-related health issues for the past few days, following which she was admitted to AIG Hospital in Hyderabad, according to media reports.

Indira Devi got married to veteran actor Krishna in 1961. The couple has five children together – Mahesh Babu, Ramesh Babu, Manjula Ghattamaneni, Priyadarshini Ghattamaneni, Padmavathi Ghattamaneni.

Mahesh Babu is referred to in the media as the Prince of Tollywood. He has appeared in more than 25 films and won several awards including, eight Nandi Awards, five Filmfare South Awards, four South Indian International Movie Awards, three CineMAA Awards, and one IIFA Utsavam Award.

He is one of the highest-paid Telugu film actors. He also owns the production house G. Mahesh Babu Entertainment. 

Ramesh Babu was an Indian actor and film producer. He died on January 8, 2022. Ramesh Babu made his on screen debut with the film Alluri Seetharama Raju in 1974. He acted in over 15 films before retiring from acting in 1997. Ramesh Babu had been battling liver-related issues few months before his death.

Manjula Ghattamaneni is an Indian film producer. She began her acting career by doing a cameo role in the 1999 film Rajasthan and went on to act as a supporting actor in the Malayalam film Summer in Bethlehem. She became popular after starring and producing in the 2002 film Show. The film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu and National Film Award for Best Screenplay for that year. She owns a film production company called Indira Productions, named after her mother.

Priyadarshini Ghattamaneni, who was born in 1979, got married to actor-producer Sudheer Babu. Sudheer Babu debuted as a lead actor in Shiva Manasulo Shruti, Babu’s successful films include Prema Katha Chitram, Baaghi, and Sammohanam. He won SIIMA Special Jury award for his performance in Sammohanam.

Padmavathi Ghattamaneni is also a producer who has worked in the Tollywood entertainment industry. Her artwork has been released in Telugu language movies. She married Jayadev Galla, the managing director of Amara Raja Group and TDP Parliamentary Party Leader, in 1991.
