NFL star Aaron Rodgers surprised everyone by announcing his engagement earlier this month. Though he did not name his fiancée, people were quick to point out that it was none other than ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ actor Shailene Woodley. During the announcement, the Green Bay Packers Quarterback thanked a lot of people for their support, including Jodie Foster, giving rise to speculations that the 58-year-old Oscar winner may have set the two up. Foster and Woodley are co-stars in their newly released movie ‘The Mauritanian.’

“Off the field, I’ve got a great group of people that support me, so I’d like to thank my team,” Rodgers had said before proceeding to thank “my fiancée” and Jodie Foster. He then urged “people to read books, to meditate, speak things to life, manifest the desires of your heart, question everything and spread love and positivity.”

On Thursday, Foster appeared on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ to promote the movie, during which the host asked her about the mystery woman in Rodgers’ life. Though Foster did not give a straightforward answer, she did drop a few hints.

“I’m a big Packers fan.. You see, he said ‘my team,’ even though he said ‘off the field.’ That makes me a Green Bay Packer. People keep saying to me, ‘No, Jodie, that does not mean you’re part of the team.’ But it does mean I’m part of the team,” she said.

An unsatisfied Kimmel further questions if she knows Aaron Rodgers, to which the actor replied, “No!”

“You had no idea he was going to say this?” the host further quesions and she once again answers, “He just knows I’m his biggest fan.”

Kimmel then point out that Rodgers “mentions his fiancée, who is Shailene Woodley, who is your co-star in this particular movie. And that’s just a total coincidence?” The actress replies, “I don’t know if that’s a coincidence, but yes, she is, and she’s fantastic. So we spent a lot of time on The Mauritanian together in a little tent with a little air-conditioning spitting at us, talking about our lives, and recipes, and people we hate, and things like that.”

The host adds, “And the Green Bay Packers,” to which Foster responds, “And the Green Bay Packers somehow came up!”

For those unaware, Rodgers announced his engagement while accepting his Associated Press Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for 2020.

“2020 was definitely a crazy year, filled with lots of change, growth, some amazing memorable moments, 180 straight days of having my nose hairs scraped, playing for very little fans,” Rodgers said before announcing that he is engaged.
