The much-awaited trailer of John Wick: Chapter 4 has just been released. Keanu Reeves reprises his role as the eponymous quiet-but-lethal assassin in the latest edition of the John Wick series. 

The film will see Wick taking his dispute with the global criminal organisation, the High Table, to another level. The franchise is also taking the action global this time around, with the cities Paris, Berlin, New York, and Osaka featuring extensively in the trailer.

The first film of the John Wick series released in 2014, and since then the series has become a cult favourite among action junkies. Stylised action sequences and sleek cinematography are the forte of this high-octane series.

Besides Reeves, two of the most important cast members of John Wick: Chapter 4 are Donnie Yen of Ip Man fame and Hiroyuki Sanada of Mortal Kombat. Bill Skarsgård will also play an important character called Maquis in the film.

Returning members of the cast include Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane and Lance Reddick. 

In one action sequence in the trailer, Wick can be seen shooting at people from a car with its door blown off. He’s again riding a horse in this film. One action scene that fans will be eager to relish on the big screen is the one with Donnie Yen, where the two stars are seen using both swords and guns. The venue of this fight is likely an art gallery.

The film has been directed by Chad Stahelski, who also helmed the previous three instalments of the series.  Thunder Road Pictures and 87North Productions are the producers while Lionsgate will serve as the distributor in the United States.

John Wick: Chapter 4 will release in theatres on January 23, 2023. Lionsgate has already confirmed that a sequel is under the works. Reeves will also be seen portraying John Wick in a spinoff movie called Ballerina.
