Kareena Kapoor Khan, the leading lady of Bollywood, delivered her second child with husband Saif Ali Khan on Sunday

With great power comes great responsibility and Kareena is unmatched when it comes to maintaining a smooth work-life balance.

She continued working while carrying her first child, Taimur. And just months after the delivery, she was back on the sets shooting for ‘Veere Di Wedding.’

In an interview with Times of India, she once said that she never felt the need to get ready for the camera as she was ready the minute she was born.

The actor is a complete professional and has a hectic schedule even during her pregnancy.

When she was pregnant with her second child, the actor  graciously juggled multiple projects. She did photoshoots, shot for several endorsements and also shot for the third season of her hit radio chat show, ‘What Women Want.’ She also managed to complete her next movie during the pregnancy and the pandemic.

“No, there has never been any plan that I have to do this or that. It’s just that I have never been that kind of a person who would sit at home and say, ‘Now I want to put my feet up’. I am doing what I want to do. Working — whether it’s during my pregnancy or post-delivery — has been a point to just say that when has anyone ever said that pregnant women can’t work?” she said in an interview with Bombay Times.

“In fact, the more active you are, the healthier the baby is and the happier the mother is. After delivery, too, once you feel fit enough, one should do what they feel like doing, and try to balance it out between giving time to the child as well as your work and yourself. I have always been very proud of being a working mother,” she continued.

She’s always been keen on sharing her thoughts on working during pregnancy. Not just that, she is also known for taking maternity style to the next level. During her second pregnancy, she was photographed wearing beautiful midi dresses and Kaftans while flaunting her baby bump.

“I do have a stomach and am big. But I have a child in there and I am carrying it proudly. I go to work and come back; I don’t want to curl up and hide,” she said.

The actor is very picky when it comes to choosing her projects. She signs only those projects that won’t trigger off her work-life balance.

Talking to The Times of India, the actor said, “I don’t work beyond 8-9 hours because I am a working mother and I like to be at home before Taimur eats his dinner. That’s the time I want to be around him and my family.”

Kareena says her husband deserves a huge credit for helping her maintain family and work life. “I think that he does understand in a way, especially when it comes to working women — be it a mother, sister, wife or daughter. He understands and respects working women a lot. He gives us the space to do exactly what we want. I think a happy woman is the one who is doing what she loves the most. I am glad that he understands that, and I believe that it comes from his mother.”

Their first child, Taimur, was born on 20, December 2016. He is 4-years-old now and is already a heartthrob.

She says this time it is going to be different.

“I am more prepared and confident this time around. I was quite nervous and jittery since I was going to turn a mother for the first time,” she said.

The actor said that she has not experienced any kind of biased gestures due to her pregnancy.

“I do not understand the fuss about it. I have worked throughout my pregnancies and will continue to do even after delivery. In fact, it’s good to remain active and on your feet as it’s good for the baby’s health. I have never really experienced any bias.”

The actor will soon be back on the sets for ‘Veere Di Wedding 2.’ Her next release would be the much awaited ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, where the she will be seen alongside Aamir Khan. The movie is expected to hit the screens on December 25, 2021.
