Kris Wu, the Chinese-Canadian popstar, has been sentenced to 13 years in jail by a Beijing court for raping three women and arranging an orgy. After serving his prison sentence, the 32-year-old singer, who will be 45 by then, will be deported from China.

The allegations against Wu first surfaced on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, where an influencer accused him of date rape and said that was a pattern to his predatory behaviour. Soon, more women came forward and accused him of rape. Two of his victims were reportedly minors.

Kris Wu has been accused of bringing women to his house for karaoke parties and forcing them to drink alcohol. Once they passed out, he sexually exploited them. Besides Du Meizhu, who had first levied the allegations of rape against Wu, a total of 24 other women have come out against him.

Wu has also been charged with tax evasion. He used a false business to declare inaccurate income.
